Arkansas Tech's B.F.A. in creative writing, which was established in 1975, is the only B.F.A. program of its kind in this region. Each year, six high school seniors win scholarships in Tech's Creative Writing Contest

|Tech creative writing graduates have gone on to advanced study at the University of Texas, Penn State University, Southern Mississippi University, Naropa University, the University of North Carolina, and the University of Arkansas.
