What Is The Art Education Degree?
The Bachelor of Arts in Art Education is housed within the College of Education for teacher licensure in Kindergarten 12th grade. The curriculum provides a foundation of art skills, methodology, and advanced work through teaching internships necessary for the licensure requirements.
What Will I Learn In This Program?
- Identifying and applying visual arts concepts, art history, and vocabulary in evaluating art
- Proficiency in a variety of studio disciplines with an understanding of the tools and techniques of each type of media
- Learning state & national standards and how to apply them to the students classroom and learning experience
- Portfolio creation of observation studies, student learning outcomes and lesson plans from internship/mentor experiences
What Courses Will I Take?
The Academic Advising Center has created maps that are term-by-term sample course schedules based on the current Undergraduate Catalog. On each Degree Map, the milestones listed to the right of each term are designed to keep students on track to graduate in four years.
